NFT (NUTRIENT FILM TECHNIQUE) NFT is uniquely simple. It involves a shallow film of nutrient solution (nutrient & water) constantly recirculating past the roots of your plants. Nutrient solution is pumped from a tank to the channel, over the plant roots and back into the tank. It is the recirculating film that differentiates NFT from other hydroponic growing methods.

How it works NFT stands for 'Nutrient Film Technique'. A this film of nutrient solution flows through the roots of the plants providing them with all the elements they need. The only medium that is used is the medium the planst started in, wht's called a 'bare rooted' technique. In an NFT system the nutrient solution is contained in a tank. The plants sit in a try, or channel, above the tank and nutirent solution is pumped up to the channel and flows over the roots of the plants. Whatever the plants don't use drains back into the tank ready fto be passed over the roots again. A constant supply of water and nutrition to the roots combined with unlimited access to oxygen means growers experience upto 4x the yield of traditional soil growing.
